The next day we went to Roscoe Village and Amish country. Roscoe Village is like a pioneer village with lots of period activities and had original buildings and shops. We only did the activities inside. Then we headed to Amish country. With my new found desire for simplicity, I fell in love with the Amish way of life. I love the idea of being almost 100% self-reliant, not getting bogged down with worldly issues and having everything be about family. However, I do like indoor plumbing, electricity, telephones, and cars. So I will focus more closely on the gospel principles that tell us to live providently, trust in the Lord and make family first. Sounds like a win-win to me!!
